Welcome To Grosmont Bookshop
Christmas & the New Year have come, been and gone and its time to sort out the shop ready for 2012, so up until Saturday February 11th 2012 we will be open when we are here! Which will be fairly frequently as anyone who has visited us recently will appreciate theres a lot to do. If you wish to visit us we would suggest you contact us a couple of days beforehand and we will arrange to be here.
From February 11th onwards we will be open whenever the NYMR is running trains from at least 10 till 5, and occasionally on other non-running days as well.
So, heres to a healthy and prosperous 2012 for one and all.
We specialise in books on railways, buses, local maps, guides and history, local fiction, local arts and crafts, and UK walking guides, and have a good selection of books on art, motor racing, road transport, fiction, history, biographies, military, childrens and teens, plus many more.
We are venturing into the area of second-hand US outline models of whatever scale we can obtain, but primarily scales N, HO, On30 and G. We intend to sell these models at various model railway shows and exhibitions throughout the year. Details of events we will be attending and a rough idea of current stock can be found in the 'second hand PDF list' named Events, viewable from the 'view file' button. If you have any US outline models you are looking to dispose of we would be only too pleased to quote you a price. The bookshop will usually be open when we are attending these events.
Please click on a category above to discover a small selection of the range of products we are proud to offer at the Grosmont Bookshop. Whenever possible we stock products from local artists and producers.
If you wish to purchase any of our offerings, you can use the following methods to contact us - either by email, snailmail or by phone. Please click on the 'Contact Us' link above to view our contact details.
We have pdf files listing some of the books we have available on the 'second hand PDF list' tab above, these lists do contain both new and second hand titles.
If you are in the area and wish to visit us we intend to be open - children, dogs, staff and weather permitting - from at least 10 a.m. (hopefully a little earlier) until 5.30 p.m. each day that trains are running on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Oh, one other thing, are there books you have been looking for and can't find? If there are why not contact us with your 'wants list', and I will add the details to my spreadsheet, and should I manage to obtain a copy I will be in touch.
